In brief, this newsletter covers almost all aspect of UMA activities in general to emit its outlook as a professional company.

A new UMA facility – Jeddah 3,

A sales wonder!!

UMA management implemented the opening of a new car sales showroom at Jeddah on north of Prince Sultan Road, in July ‘2008, a newly developed area depicting high demographics.  Sales in the first two months exceeded target expectations with a climbing sales momentum for the third month.  The location exhibits a very prominent high exposure with a new up-to-date interior design, new training and conference rooms and a new car display lot.  A new customer-friendly sales concept was also introduced whereby sales consultants’ desks are separated from the showroom, which allows customer’s privacy, comfort and confidentiality to new car buying prospects.

UMA management also introduced a new and enchanting interior walls photographic concept, a first amongst GM’s Kingdom dealers.

Khamis Mushait !
New Branch Open Now!!

Our newly opened showroom at Khamis Mushait is operational now.  Service and Parts facilities are still in progress.

Khamis Mushait is a city in southwest of Saudi Arabia, located at a distance of 35 minutes, east of Abha, the provincial seat of the Asir province in southwest Saudi Arabia.  Until the 1960’s Khamis Mushait was a small town of less than 50,000 servicing the surrounding mild-climate agricultural region.  Since then its population has grown eight-fold to reach 446,467 (2004 census).

This city is expanding and coming up with lots of settlement in the suburbs.

UMA showroom is located at a focal location in Khamis Mushait with enough parking space for our customers.

Lease Contracts Operations Re-located

Lease Contracts Department moved its servicing operations from Dammam (BOP) as well as Dhahran Old Airport road to a newly renovated facility at Al-Khobar.

This facility has a reception, an exclusive car wash area, a workshop which consists of a body repair area for smaller jobs as well as a vehicle repair and maintenance area including a tire shop.

This has not only helped the lease operations to bring their services under one umbrella but also provided the employees a sight of relief to affectively handle all the jobs.  Furthermore, the customers are now received in a much respectable and presentable area as compared to Dammam operations.

This facility is adjacent to our Khobar workshop, showroom and corporate offices on Makkah Street behind Rashid Mall.

Fire Safety Training under fireDIRECT Institute

In October last year, UMA management deputed their Safety Champions from almost all locations to undergo Fire Safety as well as fire fighting training that lasted for a day.

This training was conducted by fireDIRECT Training Center at Dammam Industrial Area 2 and in that Fifteen (15) of UMA’s safety champions participated.

This training has provided our designated staff an opportunity to use all types of fire extinguishers as well as water hoses to handle any kind of fire.

Electrical fire, vehicle on fire, gas fire as well as conventional fire were depicted and practiced to fight against by all participants.  Besides, the out door training also included indoor lectures and presentation about fire safety.  It was a unique opportunity for all the UMA participants to experience and physically use the proper equipment in case of any out- break of fire.

UMA management Exercises a lot of importance for the safety in general as well as its assets.

Safety and loss prevention trainings are a common feature and a culture in UMA.

GM Trainings!
UMA’s Effort

UMA’s training efforts in comparison amongst Middle East GM dealers project our Sales, Service and Parts struggle at a set standard.  Our Sales and Service departments have already crossed their requirement of 50% minimum percentage for 2008 including East & West.  Further, some of the Sales trainings, which were scheduled in October and November 2008, once added to our credit, will conveniently jack us up at a much better position.  Parts department has also shown significant progress; their low graph is attributed to mostly non-availability of courses/trainings in the Kingdom.  GM is scheduling some of the Parts training in Kingdom as well that will greatly improve the situation in year 2009.

Sales trainings combined effort with the current upward trend indicate that if it maintains the same rhythm, UMA Sales may soon become the benchmark for all GM dealers in the region.

A pride matter!
